ABOUT
There’s an old idea about angels, that they are ideas floating in the ether, waiting to embody someone that resonates the idea. When I paint, I would catch myself saying that it feels like the paint knows what it wants to be. I say this because I never know how a painting will end up. When it’s finished I look at it and feel a sense of discovery and wonder. How did that painting come to be, even though I am the one that painted it? It reminds me of when people said that geniuses had genies giving them their ideas. I’m not claiming to be a genius. I can relate to why an someone would think they have something guiding them. I’ve grown to see this as a type of communication. I’ve diving into a network of consciousness that we all are a part of, that we all communicate within. Every self organizing being - rocks, plants, animals, bodies, ideologies, religions, culture, galaxies, etc, they all have a field of history around them. They carry a memory. We resonate through any of these memory fields with this inner communication, with this sense of intuitive guidance. There are things guiding us, and part of it is that we have this ability for inner communication.
The paintings that I find in this Angelic Linguistic series are usually about movements of color and brush that come together to make a group of brush marks feel like it’s alive. There is a network of embodiment within the paint. It captures a field of memory that we can connect into and feel the presence of our intuition wander. I don’t quite know what is capture, if anything, but I do know as humans, we bring a presence in our movement. We reflect off of paintings, and doing so we get to access these fields of inner communication.
