Biophilia is the innate love of nature within every human. The connection comes from the place that we are alive and nature is the habitat for life. When we look into nature we find more varieties for life. The more varieties we observe, the more appreciation we gain for life. The more appreciation we have the more we love ourselves and those around us. I think this happens because in nature we can feel more of who we are. Nature lets us expand into a vast field of our senses. I like to paint things that feel like nature so that we can feel that vastness. We can be let out of our cages and roam free in the presence art makes.
