Sound comes through breath
Pops in echo liquid that break through algae nets —
That’s how you see the currents.
Square bubbles exist in other worlds,
But you must fly to descend there.
Breath gives air a space to chime and crack.
The land drifts in stillness.
There is much drift in stillness.
The only movement is breath
Breath is current, and stillness is breath.
Small purple trees bend
Slime smuck squeegees away,
And the donkey dung stretches across the sand,
A trail alive with stars.
Jelly blooms rise to those who descend,
Tentacles afloof and float.
In meeting, prism petals shine,
And transparent rays needle the eyes.
Down and down we go,
Where all color becomes blue.
